The interior was completed and some furniture moved in to see what it could look like.  The Bodhi Leaf is quite lovely as it sits above Bhante's head.  The Buddha requested that no images of him ever were to be made and that if one were to use something to represent him then you should use the Tree that he became enlightened under.  We are trying to accommodate this desire.

Of course we do have Buddha statues here and there as everyone does!

We have the outside pillars to add rock to as the next item and then will look at some landscaping next.

We are now planning July 14th to have a celebration to open and dedicate the new hall.  Everyone is welcome to visit and stay with us for a few days to celebrate this achievement.  More details will be released soon.

The beautiful bamboo floor that was planned is now in.  The leaf is now on the wall (it looks like we will have to do some further painting to make it stand out some more).  There will be no more work until Spring when it warms up.

We can't wait to get some meditators in here to experience this!

Hello friends,
The contractor is back now and has almost finished putting up the large wood plaque in the shape of a Bodhi Leaf that Bhante obtained in Indonesia last year.  It has been placed on the wall with rock put around it and crystals embedded in the rock.  Very nice!

This weekend the new Bamboo floor is going to  be installed.  It looks like a wonderful match for the building.  We are in the final stages of getting the final funds to finish the building; if you would like to support this wonderful meditation hall where we hope many meditators will come and experience what the Buddha teaches then please check our donate button. We still need $4974.00.

Parks Construction is finishing up the stone work on the inside of the Dhamma Hall. Crystals that Bhante purchased at an Arizona Rock show will be placed in the cracks of the rock.   These columns will ring the interior of the Dhamma Hall so there should be some very good energy there!

Next up will be the floor,  some trim work, and the outside Cement Columns that have to have the river rock added to cover them and give it a park lodge like finish.

We would like to add a Dhamma Wheel at the top of the Dhamma Hall. If you can, please help with any year end donations.  We also need the final funds to finish off the rest of the building as well. Thank you.

Hello Dhamma Friends,
Our builder Doug is back from his vacation and pounding away again on the Dhamma Hall.  He has finished the inside walls and put on the trim.  Jerry White painted on the Polyurethane onto the walls and they look really good now.

The fan was installed yesterday and when the light is on it really lights things up.  We still need a floor and the rock has to be installed.

We are still short and do request you consider us when you happen to be around your checkbook (or a paypal button...).  Its the time of the year to give thanks for what we have and try to help those in need.  If you feel like you have benefited from Bhante's teachings he could use your help now to finish this.

We wish you a happy thanksgiving and holiday season!  Sadhu!

Fall is exploding into wonderful oranges, reds and yellows.   We had a low temperature of 30 degrees which made the trees really turn fast.

Doug Parks is finishing up now the inside walls with Tongue and Groove siding both on the ceiling and the walls.   This will be followed by an application of poly urethane.     Then finally the floor will be put in.

The sliding glass doors were put in plus the final one Friday for the front entrance.  Our builder has promised a very cool inside front entrance door which we eagerly look forward to seeing.

Bhante and Sister are now in Europe doing retreats and we hope there will be some donations to continue the building.  Our builder is taking a break for a few weeks and hopes to come back to finish the project off by early November.

Please send us an early christmas present if you feel inclined to be part of this wonderful project.  May the merit of your gift help you attain Nibbana soon and freedom from Craving!

The outside walls were hammered on last week.  All of the walls are on except for the front entrance which will go in last.

The Heater is installed and next week we will have heat!  It was down to 30deg last night. Typically in 2nd and 3rd week of October the temperature starts on its way to 25 deg as an average in the morning.  Every now and then it can get down to 0 degrees but hopefully like last year it won't get there this year.

Trim in the log cabin style was placed around the roof line as well.

An idea for storm shutters has been batted around which would increase the costs of the building project.  There were a few more add ons that may be needed but we will have to see.

We are still short around $5000 so please do consider making a donation through the buttons on this site.  You can be assured that none of the money that comes in is used for any other purpose other than buying the wood and the labor of putting it on.   All of our time here at Dhamma Sukha is volunteer because we want to have people experience the benefits of what Bhante teaches.

The builder will take a few weeks off after this week and then come back to finish the job by the end of October hopefully depending on our funds available.

Walls on the inside will have a beautiful tongue and groove siding material added to them.  The lava rock insulation is now in.  Most of the electrical is done.  The Heating and AC guys are working weekends to add the ducts and the systems needed.

We still need $7500 to get the project brought to completion.  Every dollar helps!

On the left is the inside wall with this special lava rock insulation padded in.

The shingles were added to the roof at the beginning of the week which means we now have a leakproof covering over the structure.

Electrical is being strung through the room and the power has been brought from the Pole to the building.  Next is insulation and Tongue and Groove walls.
These will be finished with a polyurethane to show off the wood.

Parks Construction estimates 2 more weeks to completion.   We need to collect another $9000 to complete the fundraising to pay the contractor.

Thanks to generous donors we are down to final weeks of raising the funds to build the dhamma hall.   Please -now is the time to help.

A big truck has just arrived to deliver a huge amount of plywood sheets to put on the walls.  Also the beams are being place on the roof and then plywood will go over these.

Please see the photos page for new pictures.
